The conical grip, coated in a ceramic, rock-like texture, suggests a raw, natural surface, yet reveals itself as an artificial skin. This play on appearance echoes immersive fictions where the boundaries between the real and the constructed blur.
Here, the tromple-l’oeil exposes the artifice in our relationship to the natural sublime, while pointing
to a persistent desire to grasp it, shape it,
and ultimately contain it.
